Joel Lourie
Founder & CEOJoel Lourie comes from a background of public service, where he served 18 years in the South Carolina House of Representatives and State Senate. He has been recognized by numerous organizations for his work on healthcare, education, and improving the lives of all South Carolinians, particularly seniors and children.
In addition, Joel has a 35-year history as a business owner and founded Lourie Life & Health in 2011. Since that time, Lourie Life & Health has grown to be a regional leader in the Health Insurance and Medicare industry. Joel is a native of Columbia, a graduate of the public school system and the University of South Carolina. The Louries have been in South Carolina since the early 1900s, where the family owned and operated a department store for 96 years. Also, Joel’s father served in the SC Legislature for 28 years.
Joel and his wife Becky have three children and a beautiful grandaughter. He enjoys exercising, going to concerts, binge-watching, a good bottle of wine, and some pasta. His favorite band is Queen.

Chris Johnson
Senior Vice President & PartnerChris Johnson has a passion for helping others. Originally from Lugoff, SC, and a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, Chris began his insurance career in 2006 as an independent insurance agent.
He worked as Vice President of Training and Development for a large, national FMO/IMO for six years, where he made a name for himself training insurance agents throughout the country. In 2014, Chris joined his friend Joel at Lourie Life & Health, where he is Senior Vice President and Partner and has cemented himself as a respected industry expert.
Chris loves to spend time with his wife Kelly and two children, watching his beloved Gamecocks, barbequing in his backyard, and traveling to watch his kids play sports and cheer. Chris is also your trusted source for advice on all things food!
